File Roll Behavior for Blob Storage Output RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the file roll behavior when using blob storage output for a stream analytics job. That is, when is the current blob closed, and a new blob opened? I notice that when using json output, the blob is a json array of events. Is the blob valid json while it is being written to?

  • Today, the file is rolled when it reaches a certain size, but it is not safe to rely on that behavior.   Do you have a need to control the roll behavior?

The blob is an almost valid JSON while it is being written to --- namely it is missing the closing ']'.  If you add it, it will parse.
