  • Question

  • Hi,

In Excel 2010,  I need a way to split full name into first name and last name. i am able to do that but the problem is that the full name has "Greg David Robert Jr"

what I need to is the split the first name as "Greg" and last name as "David Robert Jr".

How could I achieve that? Appreciate your help.

  • This really isn't a Developer question - it's more of an end-user question.

Assuming you're happy to use a formula and the name is in A1:
=LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1)-1) returns the first given name
=RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-LEN(LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1)))) returns the balance of the name
