How do i split microsoft report to several pages? RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi there,
    i have a microsoft report which would display basic info in textboxes and a sub report which would do grouping of items and values
    it would look like this

    ===================
    name: Hejime
    age: 100

    [subreport]
    item category:
    item name:
    item quantity:
    item unit price:
    item sub total:
    [/subreport]
    ===================

    this at first worked perfectly as what i wanted but now i'm requested to do another way
    the report generated would have a number of pages depending on the item category
    let say i have 3 categories, the report should generate 3 pages... each page containing only one type of category
    it would look like this

    ===================
    name: Hejime
    age: 100

    [subreport]
    item category: category 1
    item name:
    item quantity:
    item unit price:
    item sub total:
    [/subreport]
    ===================

    ===================
    name: Hejime
    age: 100

    [subreport]
    item category: category 2
    item name:
    item quantity:
    item unit price:
    item sub total:
    [/subreport]
    ===================

    ===================
    name: Hejime
    age: 100

    [subreport]
    item category: category 3
    item name:
    item quantity:
    item unit price:
    item sub total:
    [/subreport]
    ===================

    is there any way to do this?

  • Hi Hejime,

    You can put a page break at end on the category group. This will make new pages for each item in that group.
