Silverlight capabilities - a question thereon RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I'm looking for someone who knows a bit about Silverlight to help me with a question about the capabilities. So let me explain the situation: I am attempting to convert a program that is currently existing in VB to Silverlight. Much of the conversion has been fairly simple, but here is a situation where I think there may be trouble: the program writes system information to a series of .ini files which are transferred to the server. This then allows someone browsing a list of Clients (database field name representing a series of computers... well, Clients) to see various details about these computers, for example... operating system, drive usage, RAM usage, name of network adaptor and such like. If there's a problem with these ini file sends to the server, it gets flagged up and it can be seen as a potential problem.

So... I'm guessing it's unlikely this is possible, but it may be. Is it? Are there any reasonable alternatives or solutions?

    Thanks a lot.
