Windows 10 GDI Objects limit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Increasing the GDI handles limit in Windows 10 by setting the registry value:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\GDIProcessHandleQuota

It doesn't seem to be working like in Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1

Does anyone know if there is an alternative way to do this or is a deprecated feature or even a bug in Windows 10?

  • You may need to increase desktop heap that is associated with a window station by changing the following registry value.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems\Windows

Check this kb article: User32.dll or Kernel32.dll does not initialize

  • following registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems\Windows does nothing to increasing GDI handles

Question still open. How to increase GDI handles per process in Windows 10?
