Performance Tuning: Does it make sense to call the WCF services using BackgroundWorker? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have Silverlight business application which has to make several WCF service calls when user navigates from one form to abother form. We understand WCF calls are by deisgn asynchronous and does not block the UI thread. Having said, does it make sense to make these calls in a  BackgroundWorker? Will it help improve the user experience. How do I decide If I need a BackgroundWorker to make WCF calls to optimize the performance?

    Appreciate your response.
