RTSP uri in media element RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I am having problem with playing rtsp stream in media element.

I am writting Windows 8.1 app and I have added MediaElement to my page. Now I want to set source of my media to 'rtsp://media1.law.harvard.edu/Media/policy_a/2012/02/02_unger.mov' (mov is supported as far as I know). But when i call element.Play() nothing happens ...

Is It possible out of the box?

    Another question:

    This link works:

    http://mirror.cessen.com/blender.org/peach/trailer/trailer_1080p.mov

    This doesnt:

    http://media1.law.harvard.edu/Media/policy_a/2012/02/02_unger.mov

Both links allow you to downlod .mov file ... why the second doesn't work?

Answers

  • Mediaplayer won't play the Harvard one.

    It gives an error

    "

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

    "

If Mediaplayer doesn't then you've got no chance with a mediaelement.

    Hope that helps.
