Hello, Everyone!
Scenario: I have a potential law-enforcement client who works with highly sensitive data in the field. Right now, everything is done in hard copy in the field and then transferred over into what is essentially a one-table Access database once they're
back in the office. The client is hoping to purchase MS Surface tablets for this work. If possible, they want to eliminate the hard-copy intake and put it directly into their Access database
while in the field.
Question: Is this doable?! And if so, how? And how does one keep the sensitive data secure?
I have only ever worked with desktop versions, so this is all new to me. I will be meeting with them again tomorrow to ask them more questions about their needs, and I'll be writing up a bid for the work this week; it would be fantastic if I could give them
a realistic expectation of what can be done before I commit to anything. Lord knows they need basic database development for a desktop version; that I can handle, but a mobile Access application that allows for secure data? Yikes.
Thank you in advance for your considerate input!
