Looking for official Microsoft guidance on how to troubleshoot isses with apps updated via the Store


  • Hi,

    Does Microsoft have any official documentation or guidance on how to troubleshoot issues that arise from having a Windows 8 Store app updated from a lower version to a higher version?

    I'm getting reports that one of my apps is crashing in certain situations after being updated to its newest Store version, and I'm not sure how I could have tested this better using Visual Studio 2013 to find unhandled exceptions and the like before publishing the update.

    [And as an aside, does an MSDN subscription really make any difference in how soon I might get a response from Microsoft to this? Supposedly that's a "perk" for subscribing. Do posts from MSDN subscribers set off an alert of some kind at Microsoft?]
