Bam can configure only Analysis Services 2005 or 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I receive this error when deploying my BAM activity:

    Deploying Activity... Done.
Deploying View... ERROR: The BAM deployment failed.
BAM can configure only analysis services 2005 or 2008

I have a windows server 2003 installation with sql server 2008 installed including analysis services. Also, I've confirmed that the analysis service is running.

  • Hi,

Do you have a remote SQL server or everything on a single box?

If remote did you install the required components on the BizTalk server (see Installing BizTalk Server 2009 in a Multicomputer Environment http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9c697e02-d1bc-4684-8748-28b3a292d5bf)

Also did you had any trouble while configuring BAM infrastructure (using Biztalk configuration wizard)?

  • Hi,

I receive the same problem when trying to deploy a RTA bam view using bm.exe: "BAM can configure only Analysis Services 2005 or 2008."

    My environment is

    MachineA: Biztalk 2009, sql Client tools 2005 & 2008

MachineB Sql server 2005 sp2 standard (database engine & integration services)

Have I missed to install something?

    Regards, Johan.

  • The simplest solution is to configure BAM application. When you select Basic Configuration for BizTalk it does not implicitly configure

    BAM Analysis Database
    &

    BAM Star Schema Database

Go and explicitly configure it and redeploy BAM.

Please mark as answer if it solved your problem.

    Thanks!!!!

  • You must have getting some error related to analysis services DLL or COm exception in event log?  Could you please share that.

  • You can also check the new Wikki article which helps you to setup BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) in a multi-computer environment on a Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.
