  • Question

  • Hello!
For all of these years there was a way to minimize the program to tray?
Let's say using LitDev or any other plugin. Help please.

  • See Notifications and the Notification Area; it says:

The notification area has been known historically as the system tray or status area.

So Microsoft calls it the Taskbar Notification Area. That page also says:

See the Notifications and Notification Area sections of the Windows User Experience Interaction Guidelines for best practices in the use of notifications and the notification area. The goal is to provide user benefit through appropriate use of notifications, without being annoying or distracting.

Many people resent the over-use of the Notification Area and Microsoft agrees. Microsoft discourages use of the Notification Area by most applications.

Personally I sure prefer clicking on an application's Taskbar icon when the application is minimized instead of double-clicking on a tiny icon in the Notification Area.
