Calculation of the Jointcoordinates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hallo,

the skeleton-joints of the Kinect have x,y,z float values between -1 and 1.

How can I calculate this coordinates from a point in the DepthImage?

    Thanks

  • Actually, the range is not just -1 to 1. The values are the coordinates, in meters, relative to the center of the sensor's depth camera. They may be less than -1 or greater than 1.

To translate a depth image point to a SkeletonPoint, use DepthImageFrame.MapToSkeletonPoint or KinectSensor.MapDepthToSkeletonPoint.

  • Hallo,

Can I translate also DepthImagePoints to a SkeletonPoint with the DepthImageFrame.MapToSkeletonPoint, although the Point is not on a detectet Skeleton?
