What legal agreements for an "other device" submission? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have completed testing our driver and now try to create a HCK submission.

After selecting the .hckx file in the browser, the package contents seems to be properly recognized, and the next page shows the six OS platforms for which we tested, each with a locked combo box next to it indicating "Other Device". So far so good. Upon clicking "Next", I was prompted to sign legal agreements. Which I did, and now I can see

    • Windows Certification Program Testing Agreement v1.0
    • Windows Logo License Agreement For Hardware Version 2013

indicated as "CounterSigned". But when I start over, I still get redirected to sign legal agreements.

    What am I missing?

  • Well, the missing item was, of course:

    • Windows Logo License Agreement For Hardware Version 2014

    Is it 2014 already? :-(

  • Glad you were able to answer this question - sorry about the confusion. To provide a little more information:

The required LLA depends on which Operating Systems you are trying to certify. The breakdown is as follows:

    • Windows 7 -- Designed For Windows Logo License Agreement V12.0
    • Windows 8 -- Windows Logo License Agreement For Hardware Version
      2013
    • Windows 8.1 -- Windows Logo License Agreement For Hardware Version
      2014

Also, a LLA will always allow submissions for all Operating Systems below it.  As an example, LLA 2013 will allow submission for Windows 7 and Windows 8, but not Windows 8.1.

    Thanks!

    James
