Cannot install (or uninstall) visual studio applications RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently upgraded my Windows 10 client to version 1903.  After the upgrade, I was no longer able to run my visual studio application, I could not install new applications, and I cannot uninstall the current application.  The error is "Application cannot be started.  Contact the application vendor".   There was an error log file as well:

  • Hi Robert,

Which application you can't install (or uninstall)? The Visual Studio? Or your custom application?

To handle this issue, we need more useful information.

    Regards,

    Kyle

  • It’s any visual studio project that uses the publish method to create an installation file.  So a VB.net forms application, etc.

  • Hi Robert,

Please try to delete the folder under the path "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0", and republish the app again.
