Migration from IBM Datastage to SSIS

Question
-
Hi All,
I am working on a proposal which needs a migration from IBM datastage to SSIS. In the existing system they were using Oracle 10g as a DB and in the proposed system they need to migrate the DB to SQL 2005.
Please guide me on the migration tools/approach to be taken for IBM datastage to SSIS migration. Appreciate quick responses..
Regards
Rajiv

I don't think there is such tool that can help with the migration. likely, you will have to re-write each piece of the ETL solution using SSIS. I would recommend you to make an inventory of the elements of the data stage solution and to see what options do you have within SSIS. If you have doubts, post back in this forum with more specific questions.

I realize that this thread is very old, but just to mention that a tool for migrating DataStage to SSIS exists now (2012), from Metaware Technologies (http://www.metaware.fr/). It currently translates about 90% of the code automatically, and has already been used on real projects.Wednesday, August 1, 2012 3:45 PM
