Cannot load KERNEL Symbols with WinDbg after KB4019472 update RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.14393 Version 1607 RU on VmWare in Debug Mode, and i ran into this issue. A few days ago a new update KB4019472 was installed automatically. After that, when i rebooted the windows, and connected with windbg i got this output, after trying to get the list of running processes:

    WINDBG>!process 0 0
**** NT ACTIVE PROCESS DUMP ****
NT symbols are incorrect, please fix symbols

Here is some test output with !sym noisy

I do not have any firewall/proxy, my IE works absolutely fine, and everything was ok, until this new update. I tried to download symbols from here:

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/9/C/69C86A1F-C8E9-4F28-B6FC-9FA2BCE98BC0/Windows_Rs2.15063.0.170317-1834.x64FRE.Symbols.msi

manually, into C:\Symbols folder, where my symbols is stored, but it didn't help.  Here is my full .sympath:

    WINDBG>.sympath
    Symbol search path is: SRV*c:\Symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
Expanded Symbol search path is: srv*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

    Deferred SRV*c:\Symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
Can someone help, and maybe give me some location where i can download the correct symbols manually?

  • Sorry, looks for me symbols are not yet available on ms-symbol-server for new modules.
    The symbol packages on
    Download Windows Symbol Packages
    https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/download-symbols#Download_windows
are as a rule of thumb outdated.
    According to this

recommended way to contact MS about missing pdbs is by email.
