Export from SQL to Excel RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to export the data from an Epi Info survey into an excel format (or txt, or anything else that lets me review the data).  I can access the database, but am struggling to export this data in any format that I can use.  I have found various links to 3rd party programs which offer assistance, but can't believe that MS Azure doesn't offer a direct export to MS Office programs.  Please let me know how to access this survey data.

  • Hi Bradwhatever,

So far Azure SQL Sever can't export data to excel, csv, txt as the on-premises SQL Server does with OPENDATASOURCE, xp_cmdshell etc. Not an expert on Epi Info so I have no idea on how particular the data is. Anyway It can be easy to export data using the SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS).

If you have any question, feel free to let me know.

  • This is for a one-time export, not setting up a regular sync or scheduled import/export of any kind.
