Question on SQL 2008 geography data type RRS feed

  • Hi Can anyone of please let me know whether we can append any sort of ID to geography datatype apart from the latitude,longitude info

  • Every point can have Latitude, Longitude, M, and Z coordinates. The M coordinate can be any value that can be stored as a floating-point number, so you can use that to store an ID.
    Of course, you can also simply store a column of ID values in a separate char or int column of your table alongside your geography data.
