How to get Esri geometry from SQL Server 2008 spatial data RRS feed

  • i get spatial data from SQL Server 2008 ,

    now ,i want use this data to my project that build by Flex Viewer of ArcGIS. but the Flex API no function about conversion methods.

    so how can i use Sql Server spatial data in Flex viewer?

  • According to http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/help/index.html, ArcGIS Flex viewer is "designed to work with ArcGIS server or ArcGIS online web services" - there's no mention of functionality to load data from other sources, so I'm not sure it's possible.

  • Hi chjian,

    The ArcGIS Desktop applications can create a 'Query Layer' connection to native SQL Server geometry, but the server based apps cannot consume SQL Server native geomtries yet.

    From what I've read...  this is supposed to be something that will be coming with the new 10.1 release of ArcGIS Server.

    i want study spatial information of SQL Server 2008, but i can't open your blog http://alastaira.wordpress.com/ , so can you tell me other channels for Sql Server spatial information.

    about my question ,i think it's should be bulid my custom parser that convert SQL Server Spatial date (WKT or WKB) to ArcGIS Flex viewer data.
