  • Question

  • I created a C# application using VS C# 2005 Express.  I then moved it to a new PC and re-installed VS C# 2005 Express.  However, now, when I try to build it, I get the following error dialog:

    Title: Import Key File

The project includes a password-encrypted key used for signing.  Enter the password for the key file to import the key file into local crypto-store database for use.

    Key file:
    <mySolution>_TemporaryKey.pfx

    Enter password:
    ____________________________

However, I don't recall ever using a password for building.  Help?  Thanks.

  • This happened to me also while working with a XAML Browser Application. I wonder what it is. It appears to be a binary key file but I don't remember using it.

    This is a manifest file.

  • Open the project properties -> signing

    UnCheck options

    1. Sign the clickonce manifests

    2. Sign the assembly

Save the project and build the solution again.

Hope this should solve the problem.

  • For anyone whose key says TemporaryKey, try clicking OK without typing a password.
