Dock Windows Forms control to Office Ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am developing an Outlook 2010 add-in in C# .NET environment. In the Explorer Ribbon, I would like to dock a windows forms control at a position in line with where the tab names appear. I can do with a modeless dialog which appears over the Ribbon and repositions as I move/resize the explorer window. How can this be done?. Let me know if I am not clear with the description.

  • Hi AditMadan,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

As far as I know, what you want is hard to approach. There has no dock property for the Ribbon controls. All of the controls on ribbon will adjust its position automatically. I suggest you design the ribbon controls in the ribbon group and set them invisible when ribbon is initialized. When your modeless dialog closed call a function to show the controls which hidden in the ribbon.

I hope it can help you.

    Have a good day,

    Tom
