Enabling Low Latency/Real-Time Audio Processing on Windows Phone RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to know if there is anything in the Microsoft pipeline (or queue to the pipeline) that might address the issue of audio latency on Windows Phone.

    I've given my suggestion here:

The solution of allowing WASAPI w/ Multimedia Class Scheduler Service (MMCSS) API access I understand could easily introduce critical performance issues if not used carefully, but it still stands that real-time audio processing should be a feature on Windows Phone at this point. Hell, Microsoft can make an entire marketing campaign around it pitched to musicians and audiophiles. I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to get their hands dirty with some real-time DSP!

  • Hi Louis,

Thank you for posting your suggestion to the Windows Platform Developer uservoice. That is the best place for suggestions such as this.

We cannot comment on future versions here, and diluting the discussion by duplicating the post will be counter productive.
