sir i dont find KPI list  under "Custom List" i am using wss3.0(free version)

I want to develop a "Login form" using sharepoint site on clicking login button, it has to cross check the database for valid user . if it is valid then page has to navigate to anotherpage.otherwise invalid user has to be prompt

am using WSS3.0(free version)

can anyone please help me in this above requirement , please give me the detail steps as am new to this technology

From what I understand you are trying to impliment Forms Authentication in WSS.
