WCF-SAP or WCF-Custom? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

We are planning to use the “Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for mySAP Business Suite”-adapter  (part of Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0) to connect to SAP from our BizTalk 2009 environment. We do not have a legacy of old SAP adapters.

You can either use “WCF-SAP” or “WCF-Custom (with bindingtype=”sapBinding”) as transport type on the receive location or sendport. Which is the preferred transport type to use?

    Thanks in advance!

  • There is not really a difference between the 2, the WCF-SAP is a shortcut just like the WCF-NetTCP, everything can be done as WCF-Custom or use the shortcut ones that already have the protocol set.

I think if you use the Consume Adapter Service to generate the schema it will create a binding file that used WCF-Custom or at least it does when using the WCF-SQL adapter.
