Cannot Publish to Store - Disallowed version of file MakePri.exe

    Question

  • I cannot publish my app on the Windows Store, have been trying for 3+ days now. When uploading the package, dev center denies it claiming the package uses a disallowed version of the file MakePri.exe (10.0.14332.1000). Based on the error, you might believe I have installed the Preview SDK, however I have not. What I do have is build 14342 of Windows 10 in the Insider Preview, though I would imagine this wouldn't effect my development SDKs (and although it is a UWP app, I am targeting Windows 10 Mobile). I even did a fresh install of Windows (Reset PC option) to ensure I did not mistakenly install any preview SDK. After loading this build of Windows 10, I downloaded the ISO for Visual Studio 2015 Community (update 2). I selected the Universal SDK (10586.212) and the SDK tools (v1.3.2) and installed the application. I then proceeded to build and package for the store, and finally uploaded to the store. I've wasted much longer than 3 days due to other issues with Visual Studio requiring reinstallation numerous times. Whether this specific issue is related to my OS build I have no clue, like I said I'd imagine the SDK you install and the version that is labelled during VS 2015 install is the one the store packager will use. Included below is the information visible to me from my Windows Kits folder, and the verisons appear to match up with what I am supposed to have..
