Activate Power BI Pro subscription included in Visual Studio

    Question

  • I have been using the free Power BI and presenting it to our account managers for possible company-wide adoption.  As a result, they sprung for the Pro Subscription, through a Visual Studio subscription.  With in Visual Studio/My Account, I click on Activate Power BI Pro and I get an error message "You already have a subscription through work" and inviting me to create a new account, however, I need my Pro account to attach to my existing work account/email.  Has anyone else run into this situation?  How did you resolve it?

  • Hi suremajaji1,

According to the error message, your problem should be caused by your subscription account. I suggest you contact the Visual Studio Subscriptions Customer Service Centers to check whether there has any ways activate Power BI Pro with existing subscription account.

In addition, since this forum is discuss Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor. I think your problem should be more related to Power BI Pro, please try post your problem to Power BI Community. Thanks for your understanding.
