New Laptop? RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Current laptop (Sony Vaio, VPCF13C5E, January 2011) does not work with the Kinect despite having USB3 on-board and trying an ExpressCard. It was the only Sony Laptop at the time that offered USB3.0

    Intel CoreTM i7-740QM, 1.73GHz 6 GB 1333MHz DDR3-SDRAM
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 425M 1GB

I have tried Windows 10 but not a thing. Using Windows 8.1 Configuration Verifier gives "Supported USB 3.0 port detected with insufficient bandwidth". Also windows will notify "Not enough USB controller resources".  I have nothing else plugged in, not even a mouse.

Also rather strangely with the ExpressCard (CSL USB3.0 5Gbps) plugged at boot time the display stays blank.

KScan3D will show device connected when using the Microsoft drivers but nothing with Renesas drivers supplied with the ExpressCard.

Previously I used a HP could someone suggest a laptop that would work the Kinect v2?
    Or any other recommendations.
