Docker Swarm overlay network container-to-external connections RRS feed

  • Question

  • Microsoft's documentation says that overlay container-to-external traffic "requires second container endpoint attached to NAT network" but that doc doesn't say what exactly that means or what steps should be used to set that up. The only thing I can think of for doing something along those lines would be to use "docker network connect" for the container itself but that's not a good idea for a service. Does anyone know what the Microsoft documentation means when it describes this scenario? Or does anyone know what Microsoft recommends for allowing outgoing traffic from an overlay network in Server 2019?

The doc that talks about this and that seems to be missing some important info is: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/windowscontainers/container-networking/network-drivers-topologies#feedback
