What are DAL and BLL naming convention? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Why are the words Data Access Layer (DAL) and Business Logic Layer (BLL) written in Uppercase, despite the fact that the convention for namespaces and folders name in .NET Framework is Pascal Case?

  • That's just a rule only.

Generally speaking. When we wanna define a function name, we'd prefer Pascal naming rule; but for a special naming, we usually take every word's first one character and make it Upper.

  • as the 3 letters also comprised from 3 words, it's common to take starting letter of word and capitalize them.

convention from any site/doc, are to be taken as reference/guide. you can furhter tweak/modify to your own flavor/working-culture/team-need.
