Sheet protection 2007 V 2013 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I know that the protection algorithm  was improved in Excel 2013- but now takes longer to execute.

    I have a package that requires various sheets to be unprotected by some Vb code.

    note- I already use the "UserInterfaceOnly" code which alows some things to be done in VB without unprotecting the sheet where I can.

    Is there any faster code to protect a sheet or a way of protecting it using the original algorithm (SH1 i think)

    currently I will usually use

    ActiveSheet.Protect "XXX", DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True _
            , AllowFiltering:=True, AllowUsingPivotTables:=True, AllowFormattingColumns:=True

  • Anyone any views on this?- there must be a quicker way to protect a sheet using VB- isn't there??
