Using ajax/jsonp in Word-App RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks,

    I am desperately trying to use JSON-P inside a Office 2013 Task-pane App.

    Until now I have tried several approaches with no avail. I keep getting "Access Denied" Errors.

    Here are two simple ways to do the JSONP:

    var script = document.createElement("script");
    script.setAttribute("type", 'text/javascript');
    uri = uri + isbn + "&callback=" + "gotResponse";
    script.setAttribute("src", uri.toString());
    document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);

    // OR:

    $.getJSON(uri, gotResponse);

    I already tried with cors (but my external domain does not support this). For the domain endpoint, which I am trying to use, look at this: http://openlibrary.org/dev/docs/api/books

    I am very frustrated since documentation seems to state that this should work: http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/fp161165.aspx

    Do I have to alter Office-15 Group Policies? As suggested here: Allow Unsecure Apps and Catalogs or is it a IE-Configuration I am missing???

    I still have no clue, why this isn't working at all. If you do have any advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

    with best regards,

    Nils

  • The solution for my issues was: not debugging from Visual Studio ;)

    The cross domain behavior was gone when deploying the app on a Sharepoint app catalog and installing it from there.
