"The returned port is invalid" and Telnet Woes RRS feed

    I'm trying to configure my developer environment (Mac OS X (10.8.2) with a Windows 8 (x64) VM and Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate in Parallels).

    When configuring the build host in VS2012, I get the following error: "The returned port is invalid". After browsing the forums, I've seen others with similar issues, but their problems stem from a different root than mine. My problem seems to be rooted in an issue with my telnet configuration. This is the output of when I try to run telnet localhost 5000 on my Macbook Air.

    alexanderschiffhauer@Alexanders-MacBook-Air:~$telnet localhost 5000
    Trying ::1...
    Connected to localhost.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    Mar  2 13:07:56 Alexanders-MacBook-Air.local launchproxy[2896] <Error>: execv(): No such file or directory
    Connection closed by foreign host.

    I've attached two screenshots of the pertinent error messages. I am unfamiliar with telnet, and any help would be greatly apprecaited.

    I solved this issue by re-installing all of my Xamarin products.
