Need Windows Vista (Home Basic) disk or bootable image RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Friends,

I had Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 installed on my laptop, which was provided by Microsoft when I purchased the laptop. I still have the installation disk provided by microsoft, but some of it's content is corrupt, however I now cannot re-install Win. Vista using that DVD provided by microsoft. I either need a fresh DVD or at least a bootable .iso image of Win Vista Home Basic.

Please help me and suggest how can I get a new installation DVD? or how/where can I download bootable .iso image of the same.

    Thanks in advance!

  • If Windows Vista was installed in your laptop when you've bought it, it should be an OEM License: the computer's manufacturer is responsible for providing support for that Windows installation (as well as for sending new installation DVDs), not Microsoft.
Furthermore, there's no way to download a Windows ISO image to burn an installation DVD, unless you have a MSDN or TechNet subscription.
