Custom Ribbon Tab does not appear in A2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • OK, I'm learning about Ribbons now and followed the instructions at...

    http://www.ehow.com/how_7399707_create-custom-ribbons-access-2007.html

    And after creating the table below & saving it I closed & restarted the project

    Then went to Office Button\Access Options\Current Database\Ribbon Name

    and selected the ribbon named 'My Tab'

    Then closed and restarted the project again... expecting to see a tab at the top named 'My Tab'

    But it is not there ?

    I guess I've missed something simple here so any help would be great !

    UPDATE - enabled viewing erors & upon restarting the project it does not like...

    line 2 "unknown namespace"

    line 13 "node is neither valid or invalid..."

    thanks for any help

  • Got it...

    Line 1 & Line 2 should be one line... like this...

    <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui">

    Funny... same example with same split line code is at Office.Microsoft.com at

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/customize-the-ribbon-HA010211415.aspx

    I'm guessing eHow got their example from the Office site above... and bth, the Office site does have a lot more info on how to do this... so for anyone else I suggest the office.microsoft.com link above to get started with Ribbons.
