TC2.8.2: Do the application binaries have valid file version information? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

We have some assemblies that were generated using tlbimp and aximp. Tlbimp and aximp generates them with incomplete version information. There is no company specified, and some assemblies have no product name specified.

Can we document these assemblies as external to the ISV, or do we have to re-compile them with valid company and product name information?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Since you are generating those assemblies, you are the owner of them. So, you need to sign them with complete information.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Amitava is correct that the Interop files you own must be signed.

However, it is known that Interop files cannot be populated with the file information required by the logo program, and are thus exempt from this requirement.

No Waiver is required. This applies to tlbimp and aximp created Interop files.

Thanks for your question. I hope this helps,
