  • Question

  • Open Excel, blank sheet.

Enter a list of names, some duplicates.

Insert Pivot Table, select data and select Add to this data to the data model (as I want to Distinct Count)

    Error message.

    Any suggestions?

    Excel is 1704 (Build 8017.1000)

Downgrade to 1703 (Build 7967.2030) works fine.

  • Hi TheDavidSlight,

You get an error message when you add the data into PowerPivot model? If it is, could you please share the error message for further analysis?

  • Hello,

Skip the pivot table step,  create table over your names list Ctr +T and then once your table is created, got Power Pivot tab and click Add to Data Model. Create your pivot table from Power Pivot. Placing your names field as row headers will eliminate all the duplicates.

    Thanks, Nick -
