Populating text boxes automatically from drop down list box. Infopath 2007, Sharepoint 2007, Sql Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am creating an Inforpath 2007 form that will be accessed from a document library in Sharepoint 2007.  The data source is a SQL Server 2008 database.  I have a repeating table in which the first column, Device Name has a drop down list containing the names of the devices from the specified table.  What I need to do now is have the next 5 columns automatically fill with data from the same table depending on the device name.  For instance, Device Name /Able will fill in Application/ JDEdwards, Environment /Production, Device Action/ Add Virtual Wintel, ArcRcc Name /Virtual Wintel, Current Status/ Billable.  The rate I would then like to populate from another table which joins on the Device Action field of the first table.  I would rather not do this programmatically if there is a way to do it through the infopath 2007 designer.

    Current State Servers
    Current Devices
    Device Name
    Application
    Environment
    Device Action
    Complexity/ARC RRC Name
    Current Status
    Monthly Rate
