new monitor RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am no way a comp techie but I need to upgrade my very boxie monitor to a replacement. When I connected the monitor I got a flashing message saying " out of range ". I assume that means the range has to be changed to 50/60 Hz as indicated on the back of the replacement monitor. Can someone please tell me how I can do this.

Thanks in advance, finwatch. ( Hope I have selected the correct forum )

  • What you're going to want to first do is restart your computer and press F8 repeatedly until you see a list of options. Select "Enable Low Resolution Video (640x480)". This will allow your monitor to recognize the video input and you will be able to select the proper resolution from there.

Let me know if this works and good luck!
