Decode png to jpg RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

    I'm downloading a picture from internet and saving it to the local storage in a backgroundAgent. With ".jpg" it works fine using:

    System.Windows.Media.Imaging.Extensions.SaveJpeg()

    But, if I ddownload a ".png" file I don't know how to save it in the correct format.

    Help will be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Cabuxa.Mapache, the class System.Windows.Media.Imaging.Extensions only works for jpeg images. If you want to do the same thing with png images you can see these links...

    Best regards.

  • And what about ".wdp" format? Have you seen any way to do it?

    Thanks!

  • No, is a image compression format created by Microsoft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_Photo, http://filext.com/file-extension/WDP

    EDIT:

    I've seen this code: http://msdn.microsoft.com/es-es/library/vstudio/aa970548(v=vs.100).aspx to decode a image in that format, but thata class is not present in WP8...

    You can see a lot of them here: www.mobileswall.com

    Thanks for your answers :)
