Version History, Release Notes, Release Dates for Debugging Tools For Windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • Bing, Google, and Wikipedia have all failed me. The revision history of Debugging Tools for Windows seems to have been lost to the internet.

I need to check the currently installed version of Debugging Tools for Windows and ensure the version is greater than some minimum.

I'll probably resort to checking the file creation timestamp of cdb.exe and ensuring it's greater than some minimum date, but relying on known versions would be preferable.

  • Hi,

I think you can find what you are looking for in this link:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463041.aspx

It does not include latest release for Windows 8 6.2.9200.16384

    Thanks,

    Alon

  • Since there is a conflict between the latest version number 6.2 and a previous release 6.2 I can't compare the major and minor version numbers. It might be easier to compare the created timestamps of the files, but the link doesn't have release dates. Any advice for comparing versions?
