Is there a performance increase with creating custom server controls (those deriving from Control, WebControl, etc) versus a composite or user control (derived from UserControl)? Please explain the differences in performance differences, if any. Thanks.

well,WebControls are faster than usercontrols since webcontrols doesn't have a designer view, every thing is done through code so design is rendered through code too unlike user controls.

thats why webcontrols considered as a tightly controlled user interfaces and can be packaged in an assembly unlike usercontrols.

But keep in mind the uses of each one and that webcontrols need a lot of development time and effort.
