    Hello, I am fairly new to Silverlight, and am trying to go through the tutorials that are online. But I have run into a problem trying to move forward in the exercise.

    When I add the file: SlEventManager.mdf to App_data and double click it, it tells me the state is closed. Then in Server explorer when I double click it I'll get error message 26, telling me it cannot locate the server/instance specified.  Not really sure where to go from here.

    Hi CeeJay,

    This is about accessing your SQL Server. Make sure you have access to the server ie: your client PC must be opened by firewall at the SQL Server PC. Also check protocol at SQL Server Configuration Manager.

    You can check the access permition by accessing the SQL Server using Microsoft  Sql Server Management Studio (SSMS). If you can not access using  SSMS, your application can not use the server engine by SlEventManager.mdf. There is nothing wrong with the SlEvenmanager application.
