Can't activate Office Professional Plus 2013 MSDN after installing it on new laptop with Win 10 home RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Old laptop died. Got new laptop Lenovo Ideapad 330s i7 with Windows 10 home.

There were Office 365 trial apps preinstalled.

Installed my MSDN Office Professional Plus 2013. All went well. When starting Word/Excel... Office 365 Home Premium activation wizard appeared. Tried using activation key online - the key not found in MS database. Called MS. They created a ticket 118092719100953. Promised that tech support will call me. Someone called and left a message with heavy accent I can't understand. Could of send me an email...

Some on Google suggested to repair Office install. Tried. Got message that the office is corrupted and can't proceed. All apps are still working, but asking for activation. BTW - the Control panel shows that a lot of updates already been installed...

    Can it all be fixed?

    The solution:

    • Removed all references to Office 365 (in Settings). The activation wizard still appeared when Word started.
    • Went to control panel > Programs
    • Highlighted Office 2013
    • Selected Change
    • Entered right option
    • Entered product key and
    • SUCCESS!!!!

PROBLEM SOLVED. Activation wizard stopped appearing.
