Windows 8.1 Kiosk Mode options RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We have a service in our organisation that provides Windows 7 kit that is setup in Kiosk mode using HP hardware with a ThinClient built in.

These machines are used in shared services areas so a client can switch on, login, do some web stuff and office stuff, save what they're doing onto usb then reboot. On reboot the whole machine is wiped and the kiosk image is replaced brand new. (This ensures no login details or web caches are saved onto the machine for others to possibly abuse).

So, this hardware now needs replacing so I'm looking at options of built in services within Windows 8.1 that can do the same job..... I have looked at the faq in depth for Assigned Access, but cannot determine whether this will cover our requirements alone.....

Anyone have info on Assigned Access within Windows 8.1 and know if this should be the route to go down? Or I'm welcome to other options, even third party software solutions....

    Thanks in advance!
