Get value from URL into sharepoint form textbox RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am trying to achieve URL parameter values and set those values on a form automatically. I have created a flow that will send the link to add new item to the required form. The link is of the form: "http://servername/sitename/Lists/listname/NewForm.aspx?Title=item1&PIC=Nameofapersn". So, when one person click on this link they should get a new form with prefilled 'Title' textbox which have value 'Item1' automatically and same applicable for PIC field too.  so please let me know which approach will be better for this. Can we do this with using flows.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanking in advance

  • Hi, Freceena,

I do not think you can use a URL to make the list new form fields pre-filled with your required values. As you mentioned flow, I will assume you are using SharePoint Online, please let me know if that is not your scenario.

Using flow you can create items and set the list item field with values you need. Then you can send an email to users with a link of the newly created item. Then end user will be able to directly edit the item. The tiny difference will be that end user will need to click edit item.

A simple demo here, set the trigger as you wish.
