CreateRepository fails with 'cannot assign a default value to a local variable. Must declare the variable @login'
When the Oslo SDK Installation Wizard failed installing the Repository, I tried a number of things:
- installing Oslo on a pretty clean Windows 2003 Standard SP2 (might have left overs from a SQL 20005 installation) => same error
- installing Oslo on Windows 2008 Enterprise (upgraded from Windows 2003) => same error
Any ideas?Friday, October 31, 2008 10:23 AM
I've seen this error when trying to install the repository on a non-default instance of SQL.The easy way to fix this is to install to the default instance. To create a default instance of SQL Express, follow the instructions hereBasically, you have to install an instance named MSSQLSERVER.I do not know if there is a different way of resolving the issue.

I posted this on MS Connect and it was resolved as By Design:
Is it By Design to not support SQL Server 2005 for the Repository? Or just to not support it for the October CTP?
