One of my SQL Server 2005 database servers has recently started returning "There is insufficient system memory to run this query" at random. Each time this has happened, I've checked the server, and there is always at least a gig of physical memory free, and SQL Server is using less than 1 gig of memory. Whenever the database server returns this error, it also writes the following error message to the SQL Server logs: "Error: 701, Severity: 17, State: 13.". I've searched online, but I can't find anything about this specific error message. I tried some of the solutions that people had posted to other "Error: 701, Severity: 17..." errors, but none of them have made any difference. This database server is running SQL Server 2005 SP2.
FIX: Error message when you run an application against SQL Server 2005 that uses many unique user logins or performs many user login impersonations: "insufficient system memory to run this query"
