Turning around 360 degrees / Turning back at sensor while looking over the shoulder ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

currently waiting for the availability of kinect v2 in my country and its gonna be my first kinect experience as well,  so for now iam wondering if v2 is able to recognize the skeletal / 3d orientations when a person turns around 360 degrees and/or when they just partially turn their back at the sensor (but whole chest plane is NOT visible to the sensor but head keeps looking over the shoulder).

Small errors or mild popping doesnt matter, im just wondering if this is supported at all or if its just going to explode or think that the back is chest as well.   (purpose:  amateur realtime mocap into 3d app for previzualization and fun)

Thanks for any kind of info

  • The technology around skeleton tracking requires a full view of the face to shoulders. If you are not engaged (fully facing the sensor), ST was not trained with the data for those other positions.
