Replication Monitoring - How do you do this on your environment? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning everyone,

Let me ask you guys a question, what do you guys use to monitor replication?

    SCOM? (What SCOM Pack)
    SQL Engine Alerts?
    Other Third Party Tool?
    Custom scripts?
    A combination of both?

Can you guys share some experiences, pros and cons and benefits of using what you're using?

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • I use a combination of Replication Monitor, alerts for replication agent events, and some custom monitoring in our application.  T-SQL, RMO, and System Monitor can also be used.  Some good info can be found in Monitoring (Replication).

  • I would start with Database Mirroring and go from there.
