  • Hello!

How I know, you can't run other apps from your app. You can only use Launchers and Choosers API.

  • Hi,

another way is to use the associated URI scheme -

Not every app has one, but you can find some in the link above.

  • A Very simple way to launch other apps from your app is using the Launcher as many have already said above here is the sample code for launching another app from your app

This code can be used to launch whatsapp

     Await Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(New Uri("whatsapp://new"))

Similarly you can find a list URI for known apps at this page

If you come across some more do keep updating that wiki

  • There is one way, please try this hope this will works for you. First Open the Start screen. If you spot the tile for your program or app, choose it with a mouse, then Scroll to the screen’s right to see more tiles. View all your apps.

  • It simply might not be possible. The app must register a Uri scheme. There is no scheme by default and most apps do not register one. You will have to contact the developers of viber and ask them.

  • How can we send text to the URI scheme after launching whatsapp.
    Is there any way?

  • Some URI schemes allow you to send data in the query string, other than that you cannot complete any inter-process comms unless you have agreed some mechanism with the 3rd party (e.g. writing to a well known place, web service, etc.)
